impact of the internet
As the internet being used by 51% of the worlds population, it is a crutial part of promotion. As like everything, their comes pros and cons. The increase of digital downloading as a quick way to access music, has affected the music industry hugely. As the access to new music being as simple as pressing a single button has become more of a norm, the pressure on record labels has increased.
This diagram shows the increase of internet usage since 1996, as you can see the usage of the web is increasing. As the internet has made music more accessible to the public, it has also helped with the process of distributing music faster and without the need for a major label. As for everything, there are pros and cons of the impact of the internet and the music industry.
Taking this into consideration, we want our artists music video and music to be the best it can be as this is what people see first hand which controls their decision on whether they want to stream the music. As our artist is independent we want to make sure we

PROS:
- Independent artists can connect with people globally without the need for a major label to help get them started, for example, Youtube is the most used video website in the world with 1 billion active users a month. major stars like Cody Simpson, Justin Bieber, Susan Boyle, Carley Rae Jepsen. ect.
- Allows people to connect globally and promote their own music without a major record label.
- As the internet make the accessibility to new artists easier, this means the business side of the industry is struggling with most of the people who are part of making a record, are paid in royalties and anytime music changes hands without making money means that these royalties can't be paid.
- Artists find it more difficult to make money.

Animatic storyboard
This storyboard has helped our group stay organised and help quicken our shooting time.
Sequence of events
- Establishing shots of Barde and the crowd
- Barde sings the lyrics from multiple angles until around 0:28
- Outside of bank is introduced and we see the banker in his workspace
- Girl enters the cafe
- Camera goes back to Barde's performance
- Video switches between Barde, the Girl and the banker until around 1:18 when the banker leaves work after the system error
- Girl continues on her laptop
- In the corner shop
- Barde continues singing
- Reveal of girl (hacker) computer
- Singing and back to banker
- Banker leaves shop, Girl leaves cafe and Barde leaves podium at similar times
- Barde drops papers and we see her near the cafe and corner shop
- We follow each one into the taxis', the camera moves into the taxi and we use whip pan edits to show them all inside before the camera leaves the other door of the taxi
- Barde is in the taxi singing "All life is forwards you will see" and the taxi pulls away
Location research
The location my group decided on was a local cafe where we are able to film when it is empty which will help us tremendously. Before we start to film, we visited this cafe to check it out in person so we know if it is suitable which we found it is. As the cafe's visual effect, we found that it is perfect for the genre of our music with the raw, authentic feeling it brings which will help draw in our target audience as a cafe is realistic and is accessible in most situations. This cafe which is very local, means that we don't have to locate our equipment a long way. It also gives us a lot of different shots which we can include to add to the sense of mystery.
As the speech we decided to incorporate in our video needed a podium, we were lucky enough to have our school hall which has a stage and platform to present speeches on. Barde will be on the podium with the crowd standing up as we won't have enough people to create an actual crowd, therefore a group of people standing up will create the illusion of there being a big crowd.
Test shot for digipak
These images are test shots to base off of our final digipak idea. We went to different locations and tested with different backgrounds to help us with a final idea. As well as this, we also got Mabel who is going to be our artist 'Barde' to test out different positions in order to pick out our favourite which best represents the type of artist we are going for. We got Mabel to dress in a quite edgy but simplistic way and shot her without makeup which is generally her natural look to give off a raw, indie vibe.
